I love Renee’s blog “Life In The Boomer Lane” (lifeintheboomerlane.wordpress.com) and was flattered when she asked me to write a guest post. Here it is for your enjoyment..
Mimi, the author of Waiting for the Karma Truck, has asked me not to include her words about the karma truck in her bio, here. But, because I am a ten-year-old boy at heart, I am doing exactly that:
“What do I want to tell you? I guess the same thing I say to everyone – the karma truck rolls up everyone’s driveway. Believe me. You may not be there to see it, you may never know it arrived definitively – but it’s on the road and it has the correct address. At the risk of sounding terribly hokey, you have to trust in the universe, God, Lou – whoever. That truck is on a mission and it hasn’t missed a delivery yet.”
I’m not an expert on karma, but I must have been doing something right to have discovered Mimi’s blog. She is unfailingly wise and literate and…

FABULOUS job, honey. I was laughing and shaking my head in agreement all the way through. You’re beautiful any way you slice it! Xoxo
Thank you so much!! I was a little out of my comfort zone and really didn’t want to disappoint Renee!!! As to whether or not I’m beautiful…well talk about self-esteem issues on another day..;-). Xoxo
You are beautiful. Always have been, always will be. I’m in a position of authority on this one. To the moon and back, kiddo – laughing all the way.
Oh honey, I’m so happy at the visual of you laughing. And thank you for your forever blurry vision…to the moon and back..xoxo, m
Beautiful post Twinky. ♥ Loved it. I leave your blog with smiles! You are a beautiful soul. Beautiful lady. My Hubby always tells me I am beautiful and just to “grow old gracefully”. That is what I strive for and of course ‘act my age’ most of the time. ha ha Have a great day. Twinkle (Renee) 🙂 🙂
Hi Twinkle (and can I tell you that I referred to the Renee for whom I wrote this, as ‘Twinkle’ before I realized that I was blessed with knowing two different Renees???)..I’m so glad you got a smile from this post! My husband also is a proponent of growing old gracefully – as he plays at baseball camp! 😉 Have a wonderful day..hugs, m
OH No! I am sure you both got quite a chuckle. I don’t know if you knew that my name is “Irene” and my nickname is ‘Renee’. (ree-nee) 🙂 hugs. 🙂 ♥
Just makes it all the funnier..and in my view you sparkle, so that’s all there is to it (regardless of how one pronounces your nickname)..<3
awe. YOU are so darn sweet Twinky. 🙂 ♥
I loved it. And, am amazed that you wrote almost 900 words about aging gracefully without one mention of SPANX.
Laughing! How could I have neglected to mention Spanx?? I must be getting old…;-)
Great article Mimi….may we all grow old gracefully 🙂
Thanks! May we all grown old with such robust health that these issues are completely icing. 😉
Hello Mimi. You have really topped if off now. To devote an entire post to reading a fashion magazine and sucking us all into not only reading it, but reading it enthusiastically (your post that is, not the magazine!)
🙂
Laughing..I just wanted to share my pain Elizabeth..:-)
